JAIMIE JOHNSON
Meet Jaimie, a self-proclaimed geek and lover of all things music, audio, games, and technology. As a small child, she spent her days belting out tunes into the floor stick shift of her parent's VW van, thanks to her musician father who also happens to make killer hand-crafted ribbon microphones.
As a military brat, Jaimie never stayed in one place for too long, but that didn't stop her from developing a love for music and video games. In fact, she spent most of the 80's in Greece, making home music videos for pop hits like Madonna's "Where's the Party" and Lionel Richie's "Dancing on the Ceiling" and recording fake radio shows with her sister on cassette. Move over Casey Kasem!
During her time at the University of Minnesota with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Science, Jaimie couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that her destiny lie elsewhere. But after a quarter-life crisis and a stint working at Disney World, she realized her true passion was in audio/production. Enrolling in Full Sail University's audio program, she fell in love with an SSL console and found her first home in the audio profession at a post house in Santa Monica, CA.
Over the next decade, Jaimie worked on countless national and local radio and TV ads, video game titles, TV shows, and independent films while building close relationships with clients, voiceover talent, and agencies.
But in 2014, Jaimie decided to trade in the sunny beaches of Santa Monica for a proper four seasons and some hotdish—so she returned to her roots in the Midwest with her husband and family, continuing her career as a Producer, casting director, and VO director for a full-service voiceover production company.
And as fate would have it, Jaimie's journey has led her to her true calling as co-owner and executive producer at SisterBoss, where she gets to combine her love of audio, production, technology, and creativity all in one place.
When she's not at the studio, you can find Jaimie geeking out over the latest tech or rocking out to her favorite bands, always ready for the next adventure. And if you need a killer hand-crafted ribbon microphone, well, let's just say she knows a guy.
